Bearcat Builders, a Family Business

Founded in 1978, Bearcat Builders has been designing and building custom homes and renovations in Crested Butte, Colorado for over 45 years. Rob “Robbie” Vandervoort has been building with Bearcat Builders since 2002 and purchased the company from his father Bob in early 2025.

Rob is a Crested Butte native. He graduated from the Crested Butte Community School in 2005 and received a business degree from Western State College (now Western Colorado University) in 2010, graduating Magna Cum Laude.

Rob is an avid snowboarder, skier, softball player, hiker, climber and loves the outdoors. In 2018 he became a father when his son Bobbie was born in the same hospital that he was born in some 31 years prior. Rob’s core values include family, responsibility, freedom, integrity, respect for others and for nature, and having a good time.
